Check out the page on our WEBSITE for summer lunch bags and food assistance information and resources. You can also find back-to-school support through Beverly Bootstraps. Receive free school supplies and backpacks for any students in grades K-12. They even have a FREE Book Fair in July for summer reading. CFCE offers FREE educational opportunities & interactive experiences, with a focus on early literacy, healthy child development, & positive social-emotional development. All activities are tied to the MA Early Learning Standards & Guidelines - the frameworks for high-quality educational experiences for children from Birth through Grade 3. 

DATE CHANGE: Pride Month Chalk Decorating June 10th

CHALK DECORATING IS PPD because of the rain to June 10th: The GSA is planning to decorate the front of each of the schools with chalk rainbows again to celebrate Pride Month 😊.  This was such a meaningful event over the last 2 years, and we are excited to do it again!  Chalk Decorating will be held after school on MONDAY, June 10th, and our official RAINBOW DAY will be on Friday, June 7th.

Acord Food Pantry Summer Lunch Bag Program

Acord Food Pantry offers summer food assistance to all Hamilton-Wenham residents in need with school-age children. 

Sign up for the Summer Lunch Bag Program to get kid-friendly lunch food at the Acord Food Pantry every week this summer. All Hamilton-Wenham families with school-age children (K-12) are eligible. 

Available June 25th - August 27th

Pick-Up Every Tuesday evening from 5:00 - 6:00pm

We want to assure you that Acord has a strict privacy policy and that your name will not be shared with anyone. You do not need to register as a client of Acord but you do need to register/RSVP for the vacation lunch bag program so that we can make enough bags. RSVP either by phone (978-468-7424) or email (

Please bring proof of residency when you come to collect your lunch bag. Acord is located at 69 Willow Street, Hamilton MA 01982.

IEP Improvement Project

This workshop will introduce parents and families to the new IEP form which will be implemented for all students eligible for Individualized Education Programs by the Fall of 2024. This workshop will inform parents of what to expect at their upcoming IEP meetings. We will review the new form to see what has been added and what has been reorganized. In addition to learning about the changes, we will discuss the reasons behind these changes which represent the first major change to the form in 20 years. 

Meet Our Presenter:

Laurie Casna, J.D. has over twenty years of experience in education. She has served for 15 years as a special education teacher and administrator. She currently serves as an educational consultant for over 75 school districts throughout the country. In her work as a national consultant, Ms. Casna supports schools and districts in establishing and implementing evidence-based inclusive practices in compliance with state and federal education laws. Ms. Casna has experience as a Director of Special Education in private special education settings, traditional public schools, and publicly funded charter schools. She has led multiple districts through the process of completing State Comprehensive and Tiered Focused Monitoring Reviews and audits focused on Special Education Programming, Human Resources, Equity, and Multilingual Learner Supports. She is experienced in working with school leadership teams and community-based organizations to conduct comprehensive evaluations of services, programming, systems, and structures to determine their impact on all populations within a community. She couples her assessments of practices with data-supported and evidence-driven recommendations. She has recently focused much of her work on supporting schools, families, and stakeholders in implementing the new Individualized Education Program being implemented in Massachusetts.

The Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts is excited to host the 28th Annual Melody Miles 5k fun run from Winthrop Elementary School, on Saturday, May 25th at 10 a.m. Our talented student performers look forward to serenading you as you walk, run, hop, skip, or dance your way along our scenic local race route. Our 5-mile race is also available as a virtual option during the holiday weekend. It is a great way for you to still support the arts AND get a coveted race t-shirt! Register Today!
