Peer Leadership Program

The Peer Leadership Program is composed of 7th and 8th grade students who are good role models for younger students and who have been successful at our middle school.

What does a Peer Leader do?

Peer Leaders are trained to work with the incoming sixth graders and other new students who are entering our school next fall. Peer Leaders work with a small group of 6th grade students on 6th Grade Orientation Day, and will meet again throughout the school year to touch base, discuss problems, and plan social activities. We know that the more contact a sixth grader has with his/her Peer Leader, the more successful the sixth grader will be.

Peer Leaders are also asked to participate in a variety of other leadership opportunities throughout the school year at the discretion of the Peer Leadership Program Coordinators and Building Administrators.

The Peer Leadership Program Coordinators are Ms. Hortie and Mrs. Merritt.
